Frances Cycles: Mixte-Haul

Just finished another cargo bag for my friend Josh Muir of Frances Cycles. Josh came up with his Mixte-Haul design in time for the Oregon Manifest last October and we spent a while working out the bag details. This is bike and bag number three. It’s nice to work on projects with people that you support and value their passion and talent. Plus, I love bikes so its even more enjoyable.

Check out Josh’s website and Flickr page for more details and info.

Cargo Bag for Frances Cycles

Just finished this waxed canvas cargo bag for Josh Muir of Frances Cycles in Santa Cruz, Ca. Josh is a good friend and very humble frame builder. He’s showing a new cargo bike design at the Oregon Manifest show in Portland, Or this weekend. If you live up there, you should go.

Here are the details. Made from waxed canvas, I sewed the bag to fit the steel platform and it’s attached with metal toggles that are backed by leather. English bridle leather straps keep the load secure and the sides taut. Various pockets inside provide storage and there is a nice waxed canvas rain fly that can snap onto the sides of the bag.

It was a pleasure to work with Josh and I hope he wins this weekend. Check him out on his Flickr and definitely go see the Oregon Manifest site.
